Art Direction

For our last assessed project this year we were given the task of Art Direction. I worked in a group of five, namely; Pete Duffield, LJ Hazzard, Sara Loiperdinger and Jean Tashima. We decided to rebrand a local Tattoo Parlour in Brighton called 'Angelic Hell Tattoo World'. After settling on our logo design and the overall look we wanted to achieve we split the various tasks amongst ourselves. I did the stationary.

The illustrations were done by Pete Duffield. For more of his work please go to http://peteduffield.blogspot.com

Type Beyond the Mac

For this, our last typography project, we were given a list of statistics. We had to turn three of them into A3 posters using type only. However, we were not allowed to use the computer to set our type, we had to go out and find a typeface and do it by hand. The type faces I used were Egyptian, Rockwell, and another slab serif that I couldn't find the name of.

Different Trains CD project

This is the project I lost when my hard drive crashed (remember kids - back up everyday!), but luckily I had a printout I could scan in a edit. For this project we were given a list of albums by influential artist, we picked one and designed packaging that had to include a slip case and 16 page booklet. The work had to introduce the artist to a new audience. I chose Django Reinhardt. In the booklet I obscured his face till the end so convey the idea of being overshadowed.

Letterpress Workshop

At the beginning of the year each member of my class was given a quote; the last words of a famous individual. We were split into groups and over the course of the year each group would spend two days in the letterpress workshop printing their quotes. The final product is a 6"x6" book of all of our work that we sold to raise money for a london exhibition next year.
Here are some test pieces of my quote 'Bugger Bognor' by King George V.

The cover was designed by Danny Pinhas (shown below with the list of my class mates)
